Mizuho Corporate Bank
|
This was a three year, three phase complex services project to reflect the changing needs of an international bank. Essentially the services skeleton was removed and replaced whilst keeping the business operation functioning without any mishaps. This involved the change and upgrade of air conditioning systems, generators, UPS and switch panels and mains electrical feed to and throughout the building. To achieve this, a special Litchfield services team was installed on site and work very closely with the facilities department and contractors. One of the members of the team sat within the facilities group in order to monitor the microscopic problems that occur and to foresee problems before they arose. The rest of the team was situated 30 metres away undertaking detailed research and investigation before any actions were taken. Our main co-ordinator and Senior Project manager was Steve Cook who oversaw every aspect of the work. This was a careful and analytical project, and we avoided the need to relocate staff, arrange new lease agreements or lose staff due to relocation. This was both a large and very serious undertaking for Litchfield even though we specialise in these complex works. The crucial aspect of this type of refurbishment is the teamwork between the client team and the project manager. Adaptability is needed on both sides. Detailed project planning, hour-by-hour, is important as the knock-on effects of work completed late is greater in this type of work than most other projects. |
