MSc MAPM (CPM) MCIOB MCMI ACBI
An International Certificated Project Manager approved by the Association for Project Management and the IPMA, Chartered Builder, Chartered Manager, Associate of the Business Continuity Institute, Stephen is Managing Director of Litchfield Holdings and responsible for all aspects of work within the Financial, Legal and Government sectors.
He has an IT, construction and business operations background and has specialised in project management since 1979. He has strong analytical, organisational and inter-personal skills that have been utilised on many high profile, large-scale, complex public and private sector commissions. These include bank mergers and relocations, insurance relocations, data centres, retail, commercial, legal, and web projects.
Steve has extensive experience in bank re-location and merger projects. He was Project Director for EMEA on the Mizuho Merger Project. This was the first tri-bank merger in the world and brought together Fuji, Industrial Bank of Japan and Daiichi Kangyo Bank.
He programme-managed the implementation of a computer system into the Crown Courts in the UK. This two and a half year multi-award winning project was carried out whilst the courts were in operation and required great co-ordination and original design to hide cables in listed buildings, which were often used as film sets for period plays and films
He has managed re-locations for many high profile clients from construction refurbishments and business relocations to SAN and MAN systems on behalf of major utilities and suppliers, such as IBM and Gaz de France. Mergers have included Polygram and Universal, Lloyds TSB and the relocation of the Sumitomo data centre.
Stephen is particularly creative and has the ability to introduce original solutions to problems. He designed the first on-line European real-time website in 1996 when web cameras were installed in the Reebok Stadium, Bolton, and has produced unique solutions for the 2012 Olympics.
He is also author of “Potential use of World Wide Web for Construction companies as an advertising medium” and co-author of “Shop@home Manual E-Commerce Solutions”. He has also written articles in the Watt Magazine and Runners World. Stephen has also been a finalist for the project manager of the year for both Harbour Exchange in 1980 and the Sumitomo Data Centre in 1999.
Outside of work Steve is one Britain’s better known desert runners. He has completed 2,500K across various deserts around the world and 180 marathons including Boston, London, New York and Berlin. He is currently part of the Sandblasters team raising £1million for the Small Steps charity by running 6 marathons in 6 days in the hottest, coldest, windiest, and driest parts of the planet and the Marathon des Sables, a race Steve has completed 5 times. He has helped 3 runners complete John O Groats to Land’s End, took part in BBC Grandstand’s Captain Berkeley’s challenge of 1000 miles in 1000 hours and represented the UK in the World Masters Athletics Championships in Gateshead. He has plenty of goals still to achieve including walking to both Poles.
