The results are now in for the winning team for the Litchfield Cup 2007 - Paul Spicer and Colin Newland for their work on FIMAT.
Litchfield were requested to act as project managers on behalf of FIMAT to oversee the refurbishment of Bishops Square. Paul headed a team to ensure relocation from Tower Hill was completed on schedule, whilst Colin spent three months inside the client business to make sure all personnel were accounted for and that the relocation would be trouble-free for each member of staff. This strategy proved very successful and a total of 700 personnel were relocated from Tower Hill to Bishops Square.
Litchfield Projects web site has now passed the 700-user mark. Litchfield operates over 50 websites on various projects, many of which make are connected to our extranet. We are using and developing this technology to improve productivity and reduce the costs of various internal processes.

Litchfield has successfully relocated and refurbished New Edge’s new premises in Bishops Square. This involved the relocation of 670 people into and around the building and the construction of a new centre in Dubai.
The entire project was brought in on schedule and under budget.
We are undertaking a ground-breaking project which will enable clients to locate and open as-built drawings in any building on any floor within one minute. This will mean that documentation will be more useful to tenants moving into the building and enable faster tenant fit-outs. From a landlord’s perspective this will enable them to fully realise the potential of their buildings at an earlier date.
Litchfield’s Steve Partridge is raising money for SPARKS by undertaking the London Marathon on April 13. SPARKS is one of three charities for which Litchfield raises money.

Litchfield has been appointed Project Manager on a new dealer room project for a major bank in the City of London. The work will be undertaken in occupation and require particularly tight co-ordination to ensure that the moves and relocations progress smoothly.
Litchfield has started working on another new project for an existing client in the Heathrow area. This will involve relocating two new companies into new offices.
We have secured two new projects in the City and further work from existing clients in the Heathrow area. Considering the current business climate in Banking these have been especially welcome as this market is likely to suffer during the next 12 months.
Sandblasters were interviewed in the Christmas issue of Building Magazine as part of their charity campaign for Small Steps. This new project will involve the merger of two major dealer groups within the City. We will be upgrading services within the building whilst the existing organisation continues to trade, requiring extra co-ordination and resilience to ensure that the operation is smooth and seamless.
This project will be one of the most complex Litchfield has undertaken since our successful completion of the tri-bank Mizuho merger in 2002.
Litchfield has a new commission to relocate several Groups into new offices near Heathrow. The work involves setting up a new data centre and external supporting equipment with a coffee shop and canteen in the centre of the new offices. The Groups moving into this building come from very different backgrounds and operate independently and therefore extra focus and diplomacy is essential to ensure the project completes on time.
Litchfield has been appointed on a new 40,000 square feet Head Office fit-out in the City of London. Pringle Brandon have been appointed as architects to bring flair to the interior design of this flagship project which is due for completion in June 2008.
Litchfield was called in by an overseas bank following the removal of another project management group. The project was behind schedule and over budget.
Litchfield removed the contractor from the project, refocused the existing design team and re-designed a 300 person dealer space. Employers requirements were quickly assembled and a 2-stage tender process created.
A new contractor was then appointed four weeks after Litchfield had been brought on board. The client had a tight deadline and hence the project went 24/7 and was completed in 10 weeks; snagging was completed in a further six days.
The costs of the project were also greatly reduced and the client was very pleased with the result.
Litchfield has commenced a commission to oversee the management of the installation of a 160 position dealer floor in the City of London. This floor is using a new type of technology which will reduce the maintenance and be more environmentally friendly to the users.
We have started work on a new fast track project which entails building a 300 position dealer floor to a CAT B standard in 10 weeks - this will involve 24- 7 working by the contractor. The project has been enhanced and made easier by the use of our extranet which is shortening the design process.
Litchfield has commenced a commission to upgrade the head office reception of major client in the retail sector. Their head office in London will be in occupation and the programming and coordination of the works including new disabled lifts, revolving doors, together with new floor finishes both internal and external will require very good communications amongst all parties to ensure that the works are undertaken and completed without causing the staff any inconvenience.
Litchfield has started work on a number of high level commissions for a Japanese Bank. This appointment will require the company to work on projects both in the UK and the Middle East.

The Sandblasters has completed the Gobi March - 3 out of 4 members of the team made it over the Himalayas and across part of the Taklimakan Desert. Colin Lyall was forced out at 220 kilometres of the 250 kilometre race due to shin splints which made him unable to stand up; a full story of their adventures is on the Sandblasters website.
